LLT are now working closely with Smplicare, a pioneering digital health startup in a strategic collaboration aimed at enhancing the health and independence of older adults across the UK.
This partnership brings together Smplicare’s AI-driven AgeWell Coaching platform with LLT’s extensive expertise in functional fitness and falls prevention. Together, we will co-develop digital tools that empower older adults to proactively manage their wellbeing, reduce frailty and fall risks, and maintain independence.
Smplicare’s platform leverages wearable technology and personalized coaching to help older adults build the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to manage their wellbeing holistically in later life. LLT’s nationally recognised training programmes, including the Otago Exercise Programme and Postural Stability Instructor course (FaME), have long supported professionals in delivering safe, effective physical activity interventions for older populations.
“This collaboration represents a significant step forward in bridging the gap between digital innovation and practical, evidence-based exercise guidance,” said Garrett Sprague, Co-Founder of Smplicare. “By combining our strengths, we aim to provide older adults with accessible, personalised tools to support healthy ageing.”
The joint initiative has focused initially on integrating LLT’s proven exercise methodologies into Smplicare’s digital platform, ensuring that users receive tailored activity plans that align with best practices in falls prevention and functional fitness. This approach aims to enhance user engagement and outcomes by delivering content that is both scientifically grounded and easily accessible.
“Our mission has always been to equip professionals with the skills to support older adults in leading active, independent lives,” said Professor Dawn Skelton, Director of Later Life Training. “Partnering with Smplicare allows us to extend our reach directly to individuals, offering them the tools and confidence to take charge of their health.”
This collaboration aligns with broader efforts to address the challenges of an ageing population by leveraging technology to promote personalised, predictive, proactive, and preventative health measures. By combining digital innovation with established exercise science, Smplicare and LLT are poised to make a meaningful impact on the lives of older adults.
