Age and Ageing, the UK’s most prominent research journal for those working with older people, has just reached its 40th Anniversary. It has published a review of all its papers and editors over the last 40 years, including lists of its Top Ten Cited Papers in different decades and of all time.
We are pleased to announce that Prof Dawn Skelton (LLT Director) has two research papers in this list. Her paper published back in 1994 (as part of her PhD) called “Strength, Power and Related Functional Ability of Healthy People Aged 65-89 Years” appears in two lists:
No.1 top 10 cited papers published 1992 to 2001
No.4 top 10 most cited article of all time!
Her paper published in 2002 called “Explosive power and asymmetry in leg muscle function in frequent fallers and non-fallers aged over 65 ” is No. 7 in Top Ten cited list 2002 to 2011
