Later Life Training has been accepted as a National Member of the Dementia Action Alliance. LLT is working towards becoming a Dementia Friendly organisation which involves a commitment on our part to undertake, meaningful action to improve the lives of people affected by dementia. We have signed up to the National Dementia Declaration Action Plan with a pledge to undertake 3 actions:
- To develop Continuing Professional Development courses for exercise, health and care professionals to equip them to include people living with dementia and enable them to access local programmes.
- To develop the knowledge, understanding and skills of the Later Life Training Tutor team to be include dementia awareness in all their work.
- To educate all Later Life Training employees as Dementia Friends.
We have already started with these actions with our 1st Steps in Dementia CPD course being currently available, and others are in the pipeline.
